The regular City election has one proposition for voters to consider, as all of the City Council candidates were unopposed, resulting in the incumbents remaining in their current positions on the City Council.
The proposition up for consideration is a renewal of local sales and use tax at the rate of one-fourth of one percent to provide for the maintenance and repair of city streets. This renewal of the sales tax used for street maintenance is required to be reauthorized every four years.
Please be aware that early voting is currently being conducted for the regular City election at the new City Hall location at 305 N Main. Early voting dates are April 24-28 and May 1-2 from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm to 4:30 pm. Regular voting can be completed on May 6 from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm.
